Luke 4 13
And when the devil had ended all temptation, he departed from him for a season.
This is in the chapter where Jesus goes into the wilderness for 40 days. The devil repeatedly tempted him and Jesus remained true to the Father. How many times have we read this passage? I was surprised by the fact that the devil only departed Jesus for a season. Not for ever. Jesus was the holy of holies and the purity of God himself. Yet this passage would indicate that the devil would try to tempt Jesus even after this monumental event. I guess it’s safe to know that if the devil so pursues the good and pure, imagine what he does to a simple sinner like me.
