Dinner Blessing for Council Dinner April 24, 2003
Lord, we give you Thanks this day for this gathering and this meal
before us. We thank you for the leaders of this wonderful organization: for our President and his administration. For our elected leaders throughout this world. Most importantly, we give you thanks for the young men and woman who serve this nation and the world. We thank you for the sacrifice of their time and their youth and in some cases, the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.
Lord, Bless this food and this meal. Bless each and every person present here and our families and friends throughout the world. Make us worthy of this abundance; and of your grace and your mercy. Bless us and make us humble as we partake in this marvelous food and great fellowship; knowing that nearby people hunger and are in great need. They hunger for provision, for comfort and most importantly, they hunger to know you and be saved and redeemed through the blood of Christ. You have given us much, Lord. Let us use this time together to passionately dedicate ourselves to giving back to you and to our brothers and sisters.
Lord, you are welcome and wanted here! We invite you and the Holy Spirit to be with us throughout this meal and in the days ahead. We ask for the presence and guidance of the great Counselor each and every moment. Guide us Holy Spirit, that we may have clarity of thought, sincerity of heart and strength in our moral convictions. Guide our vision and fill our words and deeds with your love and compassion.
